The Broadmoor Battlin’ Bucs basketball team hosted the Scotlandville Hornets on January 23rd in what was a very one-sided game. The final score was 92-59, a victory for the Hornets that came largely at the hands of the number one player in the state, John Smith*.
Many fans attended as the future LSU Point Guard, Smith, posted 47 points, 10 assists, and 14 rebounds. Although the Bucs loss, it did not hinder their chances of making the playoffs. With 6 district games left on the schedule, it’s important that the Bucs win the remainder of their games to ensure a playoff spot. The Bucs’ 2017-2018 team is filled with four really good seniors who are all devoted to making their last season promising. With the good coaching of Coach Gillette, as well as a community of fans who are all in dire need of seeing this team make it to the playoffs, it’s no secret of how badly this team wants to win.
The next Bucs’ game is tonight, January 26th, at McKinley High School. Let's hope this week’s loss serves as motivation to get some more wins.
