On Wednesday, May 14th, City Year NH held its first Manchester Young Professional Friendraiser, hosted by Executive Councilor Chris Pappas, State Senator Donna Soucy, Alderman Garth Corriveau, School Board Members Erika Connors and Chris Stewart, and other young leaders in our community.
This successful event included an interactive look at the state of education in Manchester in the form of a quiz on folks' smartphones, a testimonial by City Year staff member, Allison Holmes, and discussion about City Year's work in the Manchester schools and community to prepare the next generation for college and career success. Attendees were able to gain insight into the culture of power and idealism housed at City Year New Hampshire, and how CYNH puts that idealism to work through the tireless work of fifty seventeen-to-twentyfour year-olds.
This event would not have been possible without the support of host committee, Chris Pappas, Donna Soucy, Garth Corriveau, Erika Connors, Chris Stewart, Will Craig, David & Jinjue Allen, Jaime Hoebeke, Newton Kershaw, Kate Luczko, Shawn O'Connor, Josh Bruner, and Anthony Poore.
