Today is the first day of school for students in the District, but before the students set foot in the halls, City Year was hard at work getting ready for the big day. On Saturday, staff and corps members, along with staff from Northrop Grumman, spent the morning at Kramer Middle School painting murals in the halls, building planter boxes outside and making colorful, original artwork for the library. City Year’s physical service projects are designed to make the schools in which we serve more inviting and engaging spaces to learn and grow.

In this post, you will meet the corps members behind City Year’s transformative service projects. The Civic Engagement Team plans and executes service projects every month in the schools and communities where we serve. The Civic Engagement team is sponsored by CSX Transportation.
